Or...A picture may be worth a thousand words, but throw in a sassy teen, a stuffy Brit, a couple of sidekicks and some menacing vampires, and now you've got yourself one heck of a TV series!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer had a career run of seven seasons and encompassed a total of 144 episodes. The show was initially carried by WB network, which aired the first five seasons, but after the 100th episode, the series was bought out and subsequently moved to the UPN network, where it finished off its last two years.
During its time on the air, Buffy failed to win the full recognition of its creativity from the television executives in charge of programming and promotion. When Emmy time rolled around each year this little show was often overlooked. It didn't seem to fit well into any of the nomination categories, though it did garner several awards for make-up effects. The writers themselves were consistently passed over, in spite of groundbreaking and noteworthy scripts such as "Hush", "The Body", and "Once More with Feeling". Only the fans seemed to notice how well the stories were crafted, and its a testament to their loyalty that this show managed to stay on the air as long as it did.
There are tons of websites that provide a critique of each episode, and while I may eventually get around to writing my own detailed description and summary some day, for now I am simply tendering a program listing for all seven seasons, presented in the chronological order by which they were intended to have been viewed.
